Mainframe Product Details

The Mainframe feature a shallow rectangular frame constructed from biodegradable acetate. Inspired by Y2K’s cyber-tinged eyewear, the Mainframe are marked by hand-laid circuit board detailing on the temples and include a detachable chain that connects to the oversized rings on each arm.

Hinges
The Mainframe come equipped with German-engineered five-barrel hinges. They are paired with coated safety screws to minimize metal-on-metal rubbing and corrosion. These hinges are tested to the nanometer to ensure a high level of precision and functionality day after day, year after year.

Made from Biodegradable Acetate
Conventional acetate is made using a petroleum-based bonding agent that can take over 1000 years to decompose in a landfill. The Mainframe use a vegetable-oil bonding agent and meet ISO 14855 biodegradable standards. The performance of these ‘bioplastic’ frames is identical to conventional acetate while being significantly more eco-friendly.

Made Using Recycled Steel
These metal frames are constructed using 100% recycled stainless steel, meaning no new materials were mined or processed to create these glasses, saving energy and reducing carbon emissions.

Made with Green Nylon Lenses
The Mainframe use ‘Green Nylon’ lenses, which are made with 39% plant oils. Their performance is identical to conventional Nylon, CR39 and Polycarbonate lenses, however their carbon and energy footprints are significantly smaller.

Case
These sunglasses come with a faux-leather soft case with flocked inner lining and neon green contrast stitch. Also includes a 100% recycled microfiber polishing cloth with branded detail.
